Students will not be allowed to tryout or participate in practices/games/meets without a current physical on file with the MS Athletic Office. Physicals are required for participation in both the interscholastic and intramural programs offered at DCC MS. Athletic physicals are good for one year from the date the medical provider signs the physical form.

Example: If a student's physical is signed on August 3, 2018 in order for the student to participate in Cross Country for the fall season, that physical would be considered current for the entirety of the school year. The student would not need to submit another physical if they decided to participate in Track for the spring season, as the August 3 physical on file is still within the 365 day window. That student would need to submit a new physical if they wanted to participate in Cross Country the following school year (2019), however, as the 365 window of the August 3 physical would now have expired. If the physical was signed on November 1, 2017, that physical would be considered current for the fall season sports, but a new physical would need to be submitted if the student wished to play a sport in the late fall, winter or spring seasons, as that physical would be considered expired on November 1, 2018.

Please contact the Discovery Canyon Campus Middle School Athletic Secretary at 719-234-3821 with any questions.
