Registration

For the most updated information about each season, please see that specific sports page of our website.

  • Student athletes must be registered to participate in both Interscholastic and Intramural sports activities at DCCMS. Registration for Middle School Athletics may be completed online.

  • A current Physician's Physical form is required for participation in all Middle School Athletics. To confirm the date on file for your athlete, please reach out to Kelly Manley or call 719-234-3821.

  • Middle School Athletics fees are assessed during the second week of the season. This is to accommodate athletes who change their mind about participation. Please plan to log into your Parent Portal account after the second week of practice to pay fees. For specific billing questions, please reach out to our bookkeeper, Regina Kucharski, or call 719-234-1852

Eligibility

The procedure outlined below allows for students to be notified of an academic deficiency and to assume responsibility for correcting the deficiency and remain eligible for participation in athletics.

  1. Each Wednesday the athletic secretary does a grade check. Students will be placed on an ineligible list for the following week if they have one F or two Ds.

  2. Students are called to the office on Wednesday and given the eligibility form. Coaches will be provided a copy of the ineligibility list. Coaches will ensure that students understand how to fill out the form.

  3. Students who receive this form are responsible for completing it. They do so with the help of the teacher(s) of the class(es) in which they have the F or D.
    a. Students and teachers will create a reasonable action plan with a timeline for completion.
    b. Teachers will initial the form to indicate they worked with the students on the plan.

  4. Students will review the plan with their parents during the week and obtain a parent's signature.

  5. When students have completed the plan or made steady progress, they must take this form to their teachers. The teacher's signature indicates that students have satisfactorily completed the plan and that the teachers have agreed the students are eligible to participate in their extracurricular activity the following week.

  6. Students must return the completed and signed form to the athletic secretary by 3:30 p.m. Friday. They are welcome to return the form earlier in the week if they complete it sooner. Coaches will be notified on Monday which students remain ineligible for that week. No changes will be made that week.

Students will receive this form on Wednesday and have until 3:30 p.m. on Friday to complete it and return it to the athletic secretary in order to be eligible the following week.
