What a Heart!

DCC 8th grader Kennedy Penkhus will be honored this February at the 2019 Heart Ball for her work over the past year as a spokesperson for the American Heart Association. She will not only be the honoree, but she will also be the featured speaker for the evening.

Over the past year, Kennedy has represented the American Heart Association by appearing on TV, walking in fashion shows, and giving speeches at other local fundraising events. She has been so successful in raising funds and awareness that donors who give $5000 are now defined as reaching the "Kennedy Level" of giving. For one party at which she spoke, Kennedy secured 6 people to give at that level; over $30,000 was raised that night alone!

We are very proud of Kennedy and the work she is doing for a great cause that means so much to her personally.

The photo below is of Kennedy at the 2018 Heart Ball.
